1. Mangal Tune

The tune is played before starting any occasion in which the story of God Narayan have been described(Das Avatar).

2. Chanchar Tune

Chanchar tune can be played at any time and specially famous among Tharus of Eastern Nepal to Central Terai.

3. Byachuli Tune

Byachuli tune is very popular and famous tune in Kathmandu Valley among Newari(community). The tune is generally played in July/August.

4. Spring(Basanta) Tune

This tune has the direct relationship with the season and starts playing after the commencement of Spring Season. The tune is famous among Newar.

5. Malshree Tune

This tune is played especially on the occasion of Dashain(Bijaya Dashami) in which the story of Goddess Durga has been described.

6. Damai Tune

Damai tune is the common tune of Damai's. The emphasis has been given to the rhythm while playing and dancing. This tune is specially playing for marriage season.

7. Jhyaure Tune

It is a special kind of tune originated at the time of 2nd world war. The tune is generally dedicated by sisters to brothers for their bravery.

8. Dhan Nach (Harvest) Tune

Harvest tune is the tune of farmers and is played during plantation of rice in June/July. The tune comprises different rhythm cycle.

9. Bibaha ( Marriage) Tune

Marriage tune is played in bride and bridegroom's house on the happy occasion of marriage. Male party generally play a song in happy mood whereas female party play it in a serious mood.

10. Sebru Tune

Sebru Tune is the common tune of Sherpas living in mountainous region. In this tune, the emphasis has been given to the rhythm while playing and dancing.

11. Rajamati Tune

It is a famous Newari love song which expresses boy's feelings towards his lady love.

12. Khyali Tune

It is a common eastern Khyali based on the rhythm of madal which may vary from one location to another. This tune can also be used while dancing.
