The RX-V357 receiver delivers high
power output to each of their five
channels: two front, one center and two
surround. It provides more than enough
power (110W x 5 Max; 100W x 5 RMS) to
fill even the largest rooms with vibrant
music and rich sound effects.
192kHz/24-Bit D/A Converters for All
Channels
The RX-V357 uses extremely high
performance 192kHz/24-bit D/A
converters for all 5 channels. They
perform accurate sound field
reproduction for high quality multichannel
sources, and for two-channel
stereo, provide outstanding separation
and precise musical delineation. They
deliver superior low level linearity with
excellent full-scale performance.
High Dynamic Power Capability
The RX-V357 is capable of delivering
large amounts of reserve power for
accurate reproduction of the high energy
peaks that are especially prevalent in
digital audio sources. This emphasizes
the music's dynamic qualities and
provides a sharper sound image.
Analog Mixdown
The Analog Mixdown feature lets you
enjoy 5.1-channel sound from only four
speakers — two front and two surround.
The center channel and subwoofer
frequencies are mixed into the two front
channels.
Night Listening Mode and
SILENT CINEMA
When you're listening to movies late at night
and turn down the volume during loud
scenes, dynamic range suffers and you
may miss some dialogue and other sounds.
With the Night Listening mode, you can
reduce the volume and still enjoy proper
tonal balance and dynamic range.
The SILENT CINEMA
mode allows private
listening enjoyment
of multi-channel
music or movies,
with an accurate
simulation of
surround sound,
through ordinary headphones.
Advanced Decoding Circuitry Including
Yamaha's Exclusive YSS-938 32-Bit
Floating Point Quantization LSI
The decoding circuitry performs Dolby
Digital, DTS and Dolby Pro
Logic II decoding with
extreme accuracy. The
Dolby Digital/Matrix 6.1 and
DTS/Matrix 6.1 allow the
decoding of 6.1-channel
movies (extra speakers not
necessary).
Quad-Field/Tri-Field CINEMA DSP and
14 Surround Programs
Yamaha's ultra-sophisticated Quad-Field
and Tri-Field CINEMA DSP technology
creates thrillingly realistic soundscapes in
your room. 14 surround programs provide
full format compatibility and extensive
listening choices.
HDTV Compatible 2 Component Video Input
and Output Terminals
Component Video inputs offer higher picture
quality, for use with units such as DVD players
that have Component Video output. The
frequency response of the component video
signal is 5Hz – 60MHz, making it compatible
with HDTV (720p, 1080i). The RX-V357 allows
you to connect two different components for a
choice of high quality video sources.
3 Digital Inputs
Optical and coaxial digital input terminals let
you connect highquality digital devices such as
a DVD player or certain cable orsatellite boxes.
Speaker A or B Selection
Speaker A or B Selection gives you the
advantage of listening to either of two pairs of
speakers.
5-Band Center Graphic Equalizer
In addition to the many audio parameters that
can be adjusted, the RX-V357 provides an
even greater degree of sound field control with
the inclusion of a Center Graphic Equalizer.
This lets you finely "tune" the overall balance of
the sound field to achieve the optimal imaging
for movie sound.
