In From Sex To Superconsciousness, Osho discusses the three phases of sex, physical, spiritual, and psychological. He argues that sexual energy is the purest of them all, and only if it is channeled properly can it lead to spiritual enlightenment. Whenever the basic nature of sex is repressed in someone, it creates an unnatural, subconscious obsession and this is, in fact, responsible for the widespread perversity that is predominant in our society.
In order to transcend sex, it needs to have a spiritual basis and a strong sacred hold and is meant to be an immensely revered act, not something that should be condemned or looked down upon. Osho writes about how love and sex are undoubtedly related, and the only way to find your inner self or God is to do so through love. There are several widespread misconceptions about the act of sex, or indulging in love, and Osho has done a beautiful job of clarifying these untruths.
With a total of five chapters, Osho discusses sex, lies, and the roots of meditation, the three hour hope for humanity, the diamond beyond sex, and the basis of the attraction. The fact that people need to, above all, be comfortable with themselves and their desires first, before attempting to channel the sexual energy into transformation to superconsciousness has been emphasised as well.
