INFERNO
Inferno is a bestselling thriller centred on the popular fictional symbologist, Robert Langdon, who is in the hospital after suffering a bullet injury. He finds a mysterious cylinder in his jacket, and an assassin who seems to be following him.

The protagonist of the previous two books by Dan Brown, The Da Vinci Code and The Lost Symbol, Robert Langdon returns in the Inferno with a thrilling new story.

The book begins in Europe, where Langdon wakes up from a head injury in the hospital with no recollection of the past few days. He also has with him a metal cylinder that consists of references to Dante’s poem, The Divine Comedy. Furthermore, all that the professor remembers is that he was walking through the Harvard campus, but now is in the city of Florence. However, after a female assassin tries to kill him there, Langdon along with the doctor, Sienna Brooks, are both forced to go to her apartment. From here, they embark on a thrilling journey that forms the crux of the book.

During their adventures, they come out of life threatening situations by solving complex codes centred on Dante’s Inferno, which is a literary masterpiece. Forced to decode the mystery of the Inferno, Langdon not only faces a grave threat to his life, but the need to save the world from imminent chaos and destruction as well. As the story progresses, new characters like Elizabeth, Bertrand Zobrist, Elizabeth Sinskey, and Vayentha come together to play a pivotal role in the story.

The villain of Inferno, Bertrand Zobrist is a brilliant scientist, who has put into place a master plan to destroy the entire world.

Inferno has been translated into numerous languages like Spanish, French, Turkish, German, Italian and many others. Initially, the book sold 369,000 copies and was a top selling book at the USA and UK book charts at the time of its release.
