www.muncha.com is modeled after
a regular departmental store “Muncha House”. Muncha House
originated at Balkumari, Ason and went by the name of Moti Man Ratna
Man back then. It was only after the shop moved to New Road in the
1930s that it came to be known by the name of Muncha House, a name
it has retained to this day.
Muncha House is one of the oldest and leading departmental stores
in Nepal, located in New Road, the heart of the capital. It has served
its customers consistently for over eight decades by retailing, wholesaling
and also supplying business organizations with their daily necessities.
With the sole motto of reaching out extensively to its customers around
the globe, Muncha House has launched Muncha Internet Ventures through
which www.munchahouse.com was started. This was done taking in view
the advent of the internet which raised the possibility of serving
the Nepalese people in ways which were before thought of to be impossible.
In the long run, we have changed to “MUNCHA.COM” for brevity
reasons, but our services remain the same and we always strive to
improve our services to our valued customers. In order to extend services,
Muncha Internet Ventures has recently registered a company in Texas,
USA under the name of Muncha LLC. To service clients in the US, a
toll free line has also been set up. Hence, customers there can call

Ordering
& Payment Procedures: What
are the ordering procedures? 1.
Registration
In order to purchase an item, you have to be a registered user. If
you are not registered, you can do so free of cost at our home page.
The registration option appears in the top right side of our home
page, just click on “New User” and complete the registration.
If you are already registered with muncha.com enter your "user
name" and "password" to login. Once you have registered
with us you are liable to use our site without registration the second
time onwards. A registered user can have an address book of ones whom
the user has sent or would want to send gifts. We also have a feature
through which even after adding items to your shopping cart you can
buy it later. So make sure you remember your id and password so that
you can always see what items you added in your shopping cart but
could not purchase. Even if you forget your password, click “forgot
password” option and we will send you a new password in the
email address provided to us during registration.
You don't need to be logged in to just browse through the various
items we have. However, you will be prompted to register when you
select any item to be added to your cart.
2. Selection of item
Our homepage features special occasion gifts and if you want to see
more of them, just click ‘More like this’. The homepage
also features deals of the day.
We have a wide range of items which are categorized in the left side
of our home page and if there is something specific you’re looking
for, you can ‘search’ the item by just selecting the category
to be searched in and typing your item.
If you want to see more details of a particular item, you need to
click on the image of the item or click on ‘Details’.
This will take you to a page where you can see a bigger picture of
the item and product details. In case, the product does not match
your requirement you can select other types of related items. You
can also see wholesale prices of the item if you want to purchase
this item in bulk. Item specifics can be seen on the right side of
the screen like delivery charges of the item in different destinations.
You can also add accessories/related items to your product by just
checking the check boxes which are automatically added in your cart.
When you want to purchase the specific item, you have to click on
"Add to cart" link which is right next to the item. This
will put the item in your virtual shopping cart and you will be notified
of the contents of the cart by a popup screen. After this, you can
go on adding other items of your choice to your shopping cart in the
same way. Adding items to your shopping cart does not necessarily
mean you have to buy them all. You can always remove items in final
phase or keep the items in your cart to buy it later.
3. Pricing
The pricing of the items are both in Nepalese Rupees as well as US
Dollars. We have even put up wholesale prices for people who want
to purchase a certain item in bulk. In this, the wholesale price as
well as the quantity needed to qualify for that price is specified.

are the payment methods?
The payment section is divided into two parts.
Local Orders:
We have four methods to accept payment locally
1. Cash on Delivery: This payment method
is valid only for Kathmandu based orders as payment is accepted in
cash when the ordered items are delivered.
2. Credit Card: This payment method is
also valid only for Kathmandu based orders as even though the client
submits his credit card number, the cardholders signature is mandatory
when the goods are delivered. The cards accepted are VISA, Mastercard
and Himalayan Bank Card.
3. Fax: This payment method is valid
for orders from all over Nepal. The client simply makes a printout
of the fax page and writes down his credit card number and puts his
signature and faxes the page to our fax number that is specified on
that page.
4. Depository Account: Depository accounts
are mainly useful for people living outside Kathmandu who want to
use our service. The person maintains a balance with us and when orders
are made, the corresponding value of the order will be deducted from
the balance held with us. The person can also deposit the money in
our bank account held at Himalayan Bank and mail us a copy of the
deposit slip.
International Orders
(Orders from outside Nepal to be delivered within
Nepal):
We have three methods to accept payment from clients outside Nepal.
1. Credit Card: We accept VISA, Mastercard,
American Express and Discover Card. Our payment processing company
is Authorize.net on whose secure server you will be transferred to
when you select the credit card payment option. All transactions are
processed securely in their server itself. Hence, you won't have to
worry about your credit card number being hacked.
2. Fax: In this payment method, the client
simply makes a printout of the fax page and writes down his credit
card number as well as puts his signature and faxes the page to our
fax number. This is useful for people who don't want to send in their
credit card details over the internet.
3. Cheque: This payment mode is only
valid for cheques based in the US. The client selects this payment
method and then mails us a cheque for the corresponding amount citing
his invoice number in the memo section. This payment method however
can take time and more lead time needs to be allowed as the cheque
first has to reach us and then has to clear the banking system first
before delivery can take place. Back

Out Procedures The
check out procedure consists of four different steps, which you will
be guided through along with special instructions on the page. To
mark your position in the ‘check out procedure’, you can
see the steps displayed on the top which will be ticked after you
complete the step.
Step 1: Shopping cart
After you have selected all the items you want and you want to check
out or just see the contents of your cart, you should go to "Shopping
cart". This section allows you to cancel a selected item if you
don't want it anymore or leave items in your shopping cart for later
reference. This can be done by simply selecting either “now”
or “later” radio-buttons. You can also change the quantities
of the item. After making changes click “recalculate”
to see the final transaction. When done, continue to step 2.
Step 2: Deliveries/Gifts
In this step, your item descriptions will be displayed. You have to
select the recipients’ names. The names of the recipients’
already in your address book are displayed in the drop-down list.
You can also edit your address book. If you have a new recipient other
than those who are enlisted in your address book, you can click on
‘new recipient’ to add new recipients to your address
book. If you want a picture taken at the time of delivery as a confirmation
you can opt for delivery picture option which will charge Rs.150 extra.
If you intend to send the items as gifts you have to click on ‘send
as GIFT, select option’ which will lead you to another page
in which you can choose the type of wrapping (either free gift wrap
or premium wrap). You can also select a card and type the message
you want to get conveyed with the gift.
You should also specify the date you want your items/gifts to be delivered.
You can either select "As soon as possible" or "On"
a certain date. You will have to specify a date when you select “On”.
Please note that although most of the items can be delivered on that
same day so long as we receive the order before 10:00 a.m. Nepal Standard
Time, we require notice of at least two days to be on the safe side.
This is also because some items such as flowers and cakes have to
be given an order and will take at least one day to make. For jewelry
items, we require an advance notice of seven days. Continue to the
next step.
Step 3: Revision/Editing
In this step, you can revise/edit before proceeding to the payment
step. In this page, you can also add special instructions to us regarding
your item. After finalizing, click on ‘Continue to Step 4’
to go to the last step of Check-Out Procedure.
Step 4: Payment Option
This step consists of two sections viz., Local orders and International
Orders. Select your type of payment under respective order type and
proceed. If you have any doubt concerning your payment amount you
can switch back to step 4 by clicking “Re-confirm” button
which appears on the top left side of the screen. See Payment methods
for further details.
How
do I find out the status of my current and past orders?
In order to find out the status of your present order, you need to
first register and then go to "My Account". There, you will
be able to see the status of your current orders under the heading
of "Transactions". This chart will give you the details
of your order and will show the stage of order processing under the
column of "Status". When the order has been received and
is ready for delivery, it will show "Acknowledged and In Process"
and when the item gets delivered, it will show "Delivered".

two ranges of packaging.
Regular:
This type of packaging does not carry any charges. In this type of
packaging, the gift item will be packaged in an attractive wrapping
paper and ribbons will be added where appropriate. Please note that
some item will be excluded from being packaged such as flowers, cakes
and oversized items.
Premium:
This type of packaging carries a Rs. 100.00 surcharge for packaging.
This type of packaging will be packaged in an attractive wrapping
paper and a flower bow or ribbons will be added where appropriate.

What
are the delivery charges?
For
delivery within Kathmandu,
delivery charges are calculated as follows:
All orders below Rs. 3,500.00 (Within Ring Road) : Rs. 150.00
All orders below Rs. 3,500.00 (Outside Ring Road) : Rs. 250.00
No delivery charge is levied on orders of Rs. 3,500.00 or higher.
For delivery outside Kathmandu, delivery
charges are based on the weight, volume and nature of the product
as well as the destination of delivery. Delivery charge includes insurance

Delivery of heavy items viz., TV, Refrigerator e.t.c. can be made
either through Courier or through Shipping Company (If your delivery
destinations falls within their area of coverage) as per your choice.
Delivery through shipping is relatively less expensive than Courier.
However, it does not have home delivery, which implies that the items
are delivered to your destination city and you will have to collect
it from the shipping company itself. In order to claim your package,
we will courier you a claim slip which you need to present to the
office of the shipping company to claim your package.

Card Ordering Details: Brief
description of Greeting card service
Over centuries, greeting cards have been the medium through which
people express their feelings and emotions to those whom they care.
Today, its purpose is no different. Today there is probably no occasion
that doesn't have its own greeting card.
muncha.com has come up with this new service so that people can express
themselves more openly to their loved ones in Nepal. Please note that
the greeting cards that we have are actual paper cards, they are not
e-cards. We deliver these actual greeting cards through Courier Company.

NOTE:
The date given in the card is the mailing date. It will take approximately
1-2 working days for the delivery within Katmandu. For areas outside
Katmandu, the delivery will take approximately 2-5 working days. Please
note that public holidays and Nepal Bandhs are not included in the
delivery dates.
Are
there any delivery charges?
The price for the cards includes delivery
and personalization to anywhere in Nepal. There will be no other charges
added for any other aspects of this service.
What

Greeting
card order placement procedures
(a) Card Selection:
The
first step is to select a card. For this, in the greeting card home
page, you will see the various card categories right below the heading
of "Greeting Cards". Samples from the available categories
are also shown in the page.
For detailed card specifications, including bigger image of the cover
and inside pages, click the 'details' link or click on the card image
of the corresponding card. (b)
User Registration: You
have to log in first to buy the card. To select the card for which
you want to place an order, click the 'buy' link corresponding to
the card of your choice. At this point, if you haven't registered,
you will be prompted to register. This is applicable to those who
are new users as well as existing users. Existing users can just enter
their login ID and password while new users will have to fill out
a form at the bottom of this page. After this, a pop up window will
appear and let you know about the contents of your shopping cart.
After this, you can go on selecting other cards of your choice as
you can fill out recipient and personalization details for all the
cards at once in the "check out" phases.
If you feel you have selected all the cards you want and decide to
check out, click 'Check Out' which is at the right hand corner of
the bar at the top. (c)
Step 1 (Shopping Cart): In
this step, you can review the cards you have chosen to this point.
If you want to delete any card from your shopping cart click the 'delete'
button of the corresponding card. You can also delete the cards in
step 3:Revision/Editing. You can also increase the quantity of the
cards that you have selected in this step. Quantity of each card in
stock is mentioned here. While ordering, you cannot exceed more than
what we have in stock.
If you want to continue shopping for more cards click the 'Continue
Shopping' button. This is at the bottom left hand side of the screen.
If you want to go ahead and place order for the cards that you have
selected, click 'proceed to step 2' which is at the bottom right hand
side of the screen. (d)
Step 2 (Choose your Recipients):
Here, you have to select the card recipient from the drop down menu
under 'recipient's name and address'. The drop down menu initially
contains names and addresses of people you have selected to order
gifts for before this time. Any names added will remain in this list
to aid future orders. You can however delete them by going into your
"My Account" section. If your intended recipient is not
listed or the address is incorrect, enter a new name and address in
'new recipients and address' section below this same page. Then, select
the newly added recipient from the drop down menu for the corresponding
card.
Here, you also have to provide the card mailing date. Please be informed
that this date will be the mailing date and not the date that your
recipient will receive the card. The approximate delivery date from
the mailing date is as follow:
Within Kathmandu : 1-2 working days
Outside Kathmandu : 2-5 working days
Please note that public holidays and Nepal Bandhs are not included
in the delivery dates.
Here, you can also choose to affix the name and address of the sender
in the envelope. This is the default selection. Hence, if you uncheck
the box, the envelope will not contain any reference to the sender.

Step 3 (Personalize your card):
In this step you have to personalize the card. You can write your
personal message in the card and also select the type of font and
color that you prefer. You will also be given the option of 'hand
written' message.
Please note that in some cards, this does not apply due to the nature
of cards. Here we will either handwrite or print in a separate paper
and affix it to the card in an appropriate area.
Nepali words written in English will be typed in Nepali fonts.

Step 4 (Order Review/Payment):
Here, you will basically be reviewing the details you have entered
in the previous steps. If unsatisfied, you can edit font, color, personal
closing- message, recipient's name, and return address on envelope,
mailing date in the card. You can also remove a particular card if
you do not wish to send it. Just click the remove button below the
corresponding card.
Then if everything is in order, you can select your payment option
below your order summary. Here, you can click on the type of payment
method that you prefer. (g)
Order correspondence and status:
After you have placed your order, you can check through the greeting
card button in your "MY Account" section as to the status
of your order. Initially, it will say "Order Acknowledged"
which means that your order has gone through. After this, once we
verify your card payment and see that everything is in order, we will
send you a confirmation letter that we have received your order. This
will generally take between 12 to 18 hours based on when the order
was placed.
We will also send you an email confirmation as soon as we mail your
cards. How
to put personal messages in the cards?
In step 3 of the ordering process, you have to give your personal
message and also select the type of font and color that you prefer.
These will be printed as per your instructions. Nepali words written
in English will be typed in Nepali fonts. Please note that in some
cards, this does not apply due to the nature of cards. Here we will
either handwrite or print in separate paper and affix it to the card
in an appropriate area.
NOTE: If you wish to send gift items along with a
card, it is recommended that you choose card option after adding your
items in your cart. The greeting option comes in ‘Step 2’
when you click on ‘send as gift, select option’. This
is because when you send gifts along with cards, the cost of cards
is relatively lower.

on “Photo Center” service in the home page, then registration
page will appear. Enter your id and password if you’re already
registered. If you are a new user complete the registration process.
Then you will enter the photo center page where you can select the
preferred image size. You will have to upload your pictures by simply
browsing it from your hard-disk, which should be in either ‘JPEG/JPG’
or ‘GIF’ extensions. The frames can be selected through
the drop down list. If you want to see the frames, click on ‘select
frame’. You can upload 10 pictures at a time, if you want to
upload more …………... Click ‘Submit’
when you complete the procedures. In order summary, if you make changes
in type of frames or number of copies of the uploaded picture, you
will have to press the ‘Refresh’ button to see the grand
total. Then, go to ‘add to cart’. And the remaining payment

Order
Cancellation & Return Policy
Cancellation
You may cancel your order by promptly sending us an e-mail at info@muncha.com
at least one working day before scheduled delivery date for regular
items and at least two working days before delivery for perishable
items. For jewelry items, we need seven days prior notice. You will
have to inform us your cancellation before we process your order.
In case you want to cancel your order after we have already processed
your order, you will be charged 5% of your ordered item. This is
done just to cover our processing costs and not as a penalty to
our valued customers.
Return
or Exchange
muncha.com wants to make your online shopping experience a pleasant
one. Thus, all our products guarantee 100% satisfaction. We do not
entertain return of items but you can exchange an item that has
already been delivered with some other items available in our physical
store, Muncha House, which is located in New Road. Or you can shop
in our site www.muncha.com. We can also issue a credit of an equal
amount towards any future purchase which can be applied both in
our online or physical store. Please note that this is not valid
for perishable items. A few items that are procured from third party
vendors may carry a 5% restocking fee. This however, is not applicable
to most of the items.

Our highest priority is our customers' trust in us. Owing to the
nature of online shopping, the customer does not actually see the
